  Eye Exams

  An eye exam at Mid Coast Vision Care will include: check your vision and write a prescription for glasses if necessary. Your eyes will be checked for diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration using an array of special instruments. Your eyes may be dilated with drops in order to give us the best view of the back of your eye.

  Contact Lenses

  If you are a good candidate for contact lenses you will need a second appointment for a contact lense fitting. The fitting involves taking measurements of you cornea, education and instructions on the care and use of contact lenses. We have a wide variety of contact lense brands and types right here in our office.

  Low Vision

  Low vision is when you experience a loss of eyesight that cannot be corrected with eyeglasses, surgery or medicine. It makes everyday tasks difficult to accomplish. Dr. Poole provides appropriate optical, non-optical and electronic aids. These low vision aids aim to improve a person's visual function, taking into account the person's visual needs and demands.

• Cataract Surgery

  You may need cataract surgery if your distance or reading vision become blurred or you experience trouble driving due to glare, you may be benefit from cataract surgery. In cataract surgery the cloudy lens is removed from the eye and an artificial lens implant is put in its place. This is a day surgery performed at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast by Dr. Morgan and Dr. Morrison and at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport by Dr. Morrison.

• Laser Surgery

  Laser may be used in the office to treat secondary cataracts, retinal tears and glaucoma.

• Wet Macular Degeneration

  At Mid Coast vision the Treatment of wet macular degeneration may be performed by Dr. Morrison with an injection into the eye.
